Automated bookmark backups are not running every day - maybe every 3-4 days. No pattern that I can detect. browser.bookmarks.max_backups is set to 10.

Firefox only makes an automatic JSON backup if you close and restart Firefox on a specific day (aJSON backup is created on a start).
If you keep Firefox running and hibernate or suspend your computer then you won't get a JSON backup.
