When using "Ring" option to locate my device, do I need to turn this setting off in https://find.firefox.com after finding my phone?

In the support article "Find your device", it said that you need turn down the volume using volume down key to mute the phone.

For me, it is better to say that you can turn the ring off some where. For example, turn it off in https://find.firefox.com.

Is this true? I do not have a Firefox OS device.
