Hello! Over the last few years, I was using Owl Exchange to access my school and work email accounts which couldn't be added regularly.
Now that I've upgraded, I'm not able to add these accounts using the EWS method. I run into all kinds of errors, or Thunderbird is unable to detect the kind of account.
Yet, my existing IMAP accounts work great with Owl. How can I easily convert these to work with Thunderbird EWS natively?

I have a Postfix/Dovecot server that hosts 10 of my domains from one IP.
When you open Thunderbird, it checks the domains you have preset. I have two. This happens immediately, especially if there is no new mail on the server. Everything works fine.
If you have other domain mailboxes open, and I have eight more, and you click the inbox on each one, Thunderbird stalls at the fifth mailbox, regardless of the inboxes' selected order.
tail -f /var/log/mail.log - confirms this.
I have reset or modified everything I can think of. My server is not throttling Dovecot.
This must be something internal to Thunderbird, possibly related to only using a specific mail server IP for all domains.
Google AI suggests assigning a unique local IP alias to each domain on my server so Thunderbird thinks it’s talking to 10 different machines. This seems extreme.
Any solutions?
Do I need to get into Google mail and remove the emails? Do I have a virus in one of three email, that has not been caught?

Of course layout is modifiable but spacing out the tools (so that I don't hit the wrong button in error) or turning some off is no longer an option. The More|Customize does not do much for what I want. Thoughts?

Hi. I´m running thunderbird 150.0 under win10 an a HP2760p with 8 GB RAM and 155 GB of free SDD-space.
I´ve got the errormessage: "Nachrichten konnten nicht in die Mailbox-Datei geschrieben werden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Dateisystem Ihnen Schreibrechte einräumt und genügend Speicherplatz zur Verfügung steht, um die Mailbox zu kopieren."
That is: Unable to write mesages to the mailbox-file. Make shure to have writing rights according to the filesystem and enaugh space is available to copy the mailbox.
I can´t find a limitation to filesize. I deleted a lot of mails, the error persists. I updated from thunderbird 140 to 150.0. The error persists. I downloaded my emails on an win11 Laptop. The download stopped after a while with the same error.

I don't know what version that was. I have used Thunderbird for a while. Does that imply that the previous version was 149.01? Or was it 148.01?
I had been using Thunderbird on a linux computer (ubuntu). I am now using it on a windows machine (temporarily, I hope). Could that be the reason I see a dramatic difference?

I use Thunderbird to store loacally some email from gmail and delete it from the online server.
Until october last year it was working flawless, to day I need to read an old email and I discovered that locally since october of some email is only stored the subject and somtime I only have the ticker that increase in the stored email email, but there is either not title or subject. I didn't change any setting in my computer or in the antivirus,, the only thing is that I perform the update of thunderbird as usual. Is it possible to recover these emails or they are gone forever?

I am using Thunderbird 140.10.0esr (64-bit) (latest) and for some time I have had a lot of trouble with it moving folders out of alphabetical order (but not all folders) and when I tried to move them where they belong it complains. Then today it can not find several folders. I can not even see the *.msf files and yet the utility "EVERYTHING" says the msf files are in the default directory where they belong but they are not visible from Windows 10 explorer and Thunderbird is not telling me that all folders are empty (including inbox). How do I repair Thunderbird? HELP!!!!!

It seems faster and applies all changes more quickly.
I will test it sometime if 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available simultaneously. I have no idea what kind of channel that would be.
Problem/Question:
In Thunderbird release 64-bit POP3, the font changes to blue for every second email (receipts). Can you tell me how to display every email in black? It's only the second email in the inbox that's displayed in blue (receiving emails). When composing, everything looks black. What do I need to change?
Question 2: Regardless of whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit, and whatever channel, I see updates to the latest version. The program itself has an option to view older updates, but everything is white. I only see white and nothing else. Is this intentional? I can't see the update, even though it's current?

I can setup the Calendar event, save it and see it in my Home Calendar along with the little bell icon in the top right hand corner which tells me the Calendar is aware of the notification request. I generally add a reminder for the Calendar event but just noticed that no actual reminders are being generated.
