After reading the information provided about your issue I suggest a soft reset of the phone.

1. Take the back cover of the phone off.
2. Take the battery out.
3. Take the SIM card and microSD card out (if applicable).
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Put the SIM card and microSD card back in (if applicable).
6. Put the battery back in.
7. Put the back cover back on.
8. Turn the device on.
9. Check if the issue you were having is still present.

No error, it just keeps on asking me to insert a SD card

I noticed the card is a micro SDHC card. Could this be a issue why the ZTE is not picking up the card?

Ok, I think it was the Micro SDHC card. For anybody new to the ZTE Open (like me) buy and use a SD card, not a SDHC card. Longest six hours of my life to figure this out.

Hello together, I have the same problem. Factory reset, soft reset, SD not SDHC..., the SD card is not being recognized. It is new formated in FAT 32, on my laptop everything was OK. What can I do?

[Edit] Great support from ZTE, very friendly eMails. The OPEN must be send to ZTE, it will be a hardware error.

Got a ZTE Open C with Firefox 1.3 and I had the same problem. It's got nothing to do whether it's a sdhc card. I got one and it works fine after I formated (Fat32) it via Windows instead of gparted/Ubuntu.
