Desktop not sinking to android

I recently bit the bullet and am transferring from chrome to firefox. I was able to transfer my hundreds of book marks from chrome into desktop firefox, but I cannot get them on my phone. I saw one user suggest doing a "sync now" to force it, but when I tab "sync now" nothing happens and it continues reading "Last synced: Never" and I am logged into the same accounts on desktop and mobile.

How do I get this to work?

Do you see both devices listed under "connected services" when you sign into your Firefox Account at:

https://accounts.firefox.com/signin
