Still can't get back old bookmarks
My bookmarks completely disappeared this morning. I have tried all the restore options and nothing is working. There are not even default bookmarks. Any time I try to access an old backup date it tells me it can't perform the function. And under the Bookmark menu there is no "Manage Bookmarks" at the bottom as suggested. Anyone else experiencing this. Any fix? It is Firefox 78.10 if thAt makes a difference.

What is your o.s.? Is it a mac, due to the FF version you cited?
Desktop Mac
There may be another profile in FF that has your data but did not launch. Instead a blank generic profile did. But this is only an assumption
go to the following url, and launch an inactive profile listed to see if it contains your data
about:profiles
