i keep trying to update to firefox 9.0.1 and it never finishes

the question says it all. I keep getting alerts/messages to update to the new Firefox 9.0.1 asap. When I try, the progress bar just keeps going all day long. It never finishes. I have a MAC laptop (MacBook Pro 10.6.8)
