Fox 7.0.1 Addressbar locks me up!
Ever since I moved to Firefox Desktop 7.0.1 I have the same problem:
When I try to type an address directly into the address bar, fox basically freezes. It won't accept more than a character or two in the addressbar and the cursor remains in the addressbar. After the attempt, I can't type anything into the search bar, I can pull down my bookmarks menu, but it won't execute or go to any bookmarks, and all links on the active page no longer respond. I can't switch or close tabs.
I'm running Windows 7 on an HP i7 with 8GB RAM.
I have all three extensions disabled. I have done a complete uninstall (removing bookmarks, settings, etc.) and reinstalled - with the same problem. I have the default theme installed. If I run Fox in safe mode, it works fine.
I didn't have this problem until I upgraded to 7.0.1
Any ideas for me?

Does the issue persist if you disable Norton?
Yes. I disabled the firewall and the antivirus. Problem still with me.
I should mention, too, that it's not just the addressbar. I have the same problem is I try to use the search bar. If I simply start up fox, I can browse around using only hyperlinks. The problem occurs as soon as I type into address or search bars.
Did you disable the Norton extension in Firefox, or just the a/v application?
Both; Fox extensions disabled and through the app. Which brings me to a curiosity...
Running in safe mode (from what I see) disables the extensions and the theme, but leaves plugins enabled. Addressbar/search bar work fine.
Running Fox normally (non-safe mode), I only have 3 extensions installed (currently) and I have them all disabled. There is no way to manually disable the theme.
So the only difference in Fox and safe mode fox is the theme? MAybe I'm fishing, here. I only have the default theme installed...
Safe Mode does a couple things differently: no extensions, no JIT for JavaScript and disables HWA.
HWA doesn't appear to be a suspect but you can try disabling HWA and see if that makes a difference.
