Tab will not close; same tab is constantly loading

FF 3.6.12 -- there is one tab, usually the first, that will not close and loads constantly. Also, when I open a link in a new window, the URL does not appear in the address bar.

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
