After upgrade to Thunderbird 78.4.0 emails fail to download from the Earthlink server

After the upgrade, there is a message "[email address]@earthlink.net:Checking mail server capabilities..." and the email on the server do not download. Meanwhile, emails from another server (Hushmail) are downloading just fine. Nothing changed in Tbird other than the upgrade.
