ASK.com has taken over firefox, and is very anoying!!! NOTE: I had NO PROBLEM REMOVING IT from CHROME  !!!!!! I SPENT over 1 hour reading the way other people removed it on windows 7 and 10 but there is nothing for windows XP All the tips you provides are out of date !!!! ask.com does not show up in YOU EXTENSIONS page in ADDS-ONS MANAGER PLEASE REMOVE that crap, it does not apply to ASK.COM they really screw you up AND it does NOT SHOW UP in ABOUT:CONFIG remove that crap also this does not apply to ASK.COM

Hi, please try working through Remove Ask Toolbar and Ask.com Search by Malware Tips - the article is a little old so you may have to improvise!

Note that not all removal programs will detect all malware, so you may need to run several or all of them.

After removal you may need to reset your home page and search, which you can do by running the add-on SearchReset.
