E-mails which I open in Outlook 2010 often have web links in them. Lately, I have been unable to get them to open in Firefox or Adobe Reader 10. I need help, but this requires co-ordinating HP, Microsoft, Mozilla and Adobe, unless you know how I can simplify this issue.

Click the Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Advanced and in the General tab, checkmark the option: "Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup". Then click the Check Now button to test it.

I had already done that. The problem remains unsolved.

Do the following please:

  1. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs.

  2. Where you see the Email dropdown menu, change it to Outlook 2010.

  3. Apply/OK.

Your email client should now open links in any browser you've set as the default browser.

There is no Tools pull-down menu in IE9

I'm using Windows XP, so I can't see where MS has moved it to in the menu setup for IE9 (it's not supported in my OS), but it will be there somewhere.

Do you have an IE shortcut on the desktop? If so, right click that, go to Properties, then the Programs tab.
