You will have to do a complete system recovery as in completely erase the operating system from your hard drive and then reinstall it. A lot of operating systems have this option to where you don't have to go into ms dos mode and do it manually but if the system you have does not offer this then you need the disk that contains the operating system as in windows xp or vista and you have to go into ms dos mode and "f disc" your computer and reinstall the operating system. How did you lose the browser that comes with the operating system in the first place? Maybe you could just perform a system restore and restore your computer to a point before the browser was uninstalled?

Or you could install openSUSE Linux 11.2, which comes with Firefox as the default browser.

Hello kim,

please get me a Firefox crash report ID (a report ID normally starts with bp-) by following the instructions mentioned in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

Thanks in advance!

Most systems will have an FTP client available that lets you download files without a working browser. Go to a command console and type ftp releases.mozilla.org Enter This should reply with something likeConnected to releases.geo.mozilla.com. 220 Welcome to mozilla.cs.utah.edu Name (releases.mozilla.org:rob): Type ftp Enter then enter anything when prompted for a password - it's normal to use your email address. You should now see the FTP promptftp>Type cd /pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases Enter Type dir Enter This will list the releases available for download.150 Here comes the directory listing. drwxr-xr-x 9 ftp ftp 4096 Feb 17 02:18 3.0.18 drwxr-xr-x 9 ftp ftp 4096 Mar 16 01:52 3.0.19-real-real drwxr-sr-x 9 ftp ftp 4096 Feb 03 18:23 3.5.8 drwxr-sr-x 9 ftp ftp 4096 Mar 17 17:17 3.5.9 drwxr-sr-x 10 ftp ftp 4096 Mar 30 16:27 3.6.2 drwxr-sr-x 10 ftp ftp 4096 Apr 05 18:13 3.6.3 -rw-rw-r-- 1 ftp ftp 509 Oct 04 2007 README drwxr-sr-x 7 ftp ftp 4096 May 19 15:41 devpreview lrwxrwxrwx 1 ftp ftp 10 Jan 21 17:00 latest -> latest-3.6 lrwxrwxrwx 1 ftp ftp 16 Apr 14 18:45 latest-3.0 -> 3.0.19-real-real lrwxrwxrwx 1 ftp ftp 5 Mar 30 20:30 latest-3.5 -> 3.5.9 lrwxrwxrwx 1 ftp ftp 5 Apr 02 00:30 latest-3.6 -> 3.6.3 226 Directory send OK.Type for example cd 3.6.3 Enter to go to the download for Firefox 3.6.3, then type cd win32 Enter for the Windows version, then type cd uk Enter for the UK version.
