When I try to do a search, regardless of what I type into the search, I get taken to:

moz-extension://91088c45-5f86-4c45-9bb7-6413ad25fe17/pages/consent/consent.html?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsearch.yahoo.com%2Fyhs%2Fsearch%3Fhspart%3Dtrp%26hsimp%3Dyhs-001%26grd%3D1%26type%3DY149_F163_202167_081020%26p%3D

I cannot figure out how to get past it. I am able to access my bookmarks, just not able to do new searches.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Yahoo “ Anything.

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine, securedsearch

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Note that moz-extension:// are used by extensions. See the about:debugging page for an overview of the UUID of each enabled extension.

  • you can open "about:" pages via the location/address bar
    the "about:" protocol is used to access special pages
