i can't save files from firefox
I can't download any files from Firefox. I followed ALL the instructions here, several times- http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Unable%20to%20download%20or%20save%20files?s=unable+to+download+or+save+files&as=s
Before I'd reinstall I would clean my registry, too and even reboot. Nothing from the link above worked. I can download from any other browser with no problem but I really prefer Firefox!
I have renamed downloads.sqlite (I'm using Firefox 6), deleted it, no luck.
I am not using any extensions at all, just plain ol' Firefox and it still won't work! I'm not experiencing any other problems.
Also, if I totally disable my antivirus (NOD32) that doesn't help either. Same thing disabling Windows Firewall.
I'm at a total loss here. Can anyone help me?
This just started last night out of nowhere. I don't visit unsavory websites or download anything really. No idea what could possibly have happened, but whatever it is happened suddenly.

I think it may be simple issue that is being overcomplicated. Try going into your options menu by clicking on FireFox top left, Options, General, under the general tab you will see in mid page something regarding downloads, select the box always ask me where to download, then ok. Restart and try to save again to see if this fixed the problem.
You may also try restarting firefox in safemode & checking if the problems still does or does not occur. See the following article further.
I always have it set to "Always ask me where to download". I actually tried setting it to the Downloads folder, that didn't work. When I click "Browse" to choose a different folder nothing comes up!
So, when I reinstalled I did set it to Always ask... Then if I right-click a picture (or any link) and then choose Save As... the browser just hangs for 3-4 seconds and then nothing happens.
And I DO experience the EXACT same problems while in safe-mode. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier. Thanks for taking the time to help me, btw!
