The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

It is worth noting that if you go to the website in a new tab, any special permissions will be listed in the drop-down popup that appears when you click the padlock icon in the left side of the Firefox address bar.

Exceptions can also be added, modified or removed using the Page Info window.

Note that you can sort the list by Website by clicking the column header.

I get a bunch of non www followed by a bunch of www. addresses then a bunch of non- www again and finally another bunch of www addresses. So it doesn't really help me sadly.

The Sqlite file permissions.sqlite is of course a binary file so we cannot go and search there.

There are various tools for searching in SQLite files, but finding the data won't really help, you need a UI to take action on what you find.

The "Settings" dialogs in the main Permissions section have a search box, so it's not unreasonable to suggest one be added to the Manage Permissions for cookies. Not sure anyone has filed a bug for that yet. You could search/file here:

That's because the protocol is used in the sort, so the first bunch are http: and the second bunch are https:.

Thanks, I had gone that route and found an sqlite editor "SQLiteDatabaseBrowserPortable_3.11.2_English.paf" which more or less gets me out of the mire once I've figured out what the stored number is for Allow, Block, Allow session etc.

I didn't see any bug reports but did come across complaints from people some years ago about the same lack of a search function. At that time there were pointers to some cookie manager type addons which also dealt with the exceptions however all the ones suggested have since been removed. My search for other cookie manager addons that may do the same thing appears to be non existent now.

So for the time being the sqlite editor will have to be the workaround for now.

Thanks for the protocol explanation however, it makes the sort function somewhat useless when the list grows past a certain point sadly. Anyway we have a solution particularly as I don't expect Firefox devs to ever sort this one out any time soon.

Oh and Wesley, Thanks for your input. It is indeed possible to get to the cookie permissions for a site in a tab and although this is useful isn't a help when one just wants to search for a range of site addresses or patterns. I didn't know about this though so it's good to know.
