Just to open this page to file a complaint 4 pages and almost 2 a minutes. My question is why does it take Mozilla Firefox over 3 minutes to open a single browser page (google) when I can open the same page on a Microsoft browser in less than 2 seconds????? While we are at it, why has Mozilla support screwed me around for an additional 10 minutes of my life. If you want problems brought to your attention, MAKE IT EASY!!!!!

Have a good evening...

You are messaging to Volunteer Support Persons. Please do not take your issues with Mozilla out on us.

Please consider updating to a supported browser. ESR ver 52.4.1 gets security updates. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Using Microsoft Disk Cleaner often and clean your cache before Defragging will improve how things work.

Updating any drivers for your system would be a great help also.

Checking your system for malware is helpful also.

With that. Your running Shockwave Flash 18.0 r0 a huge security risk. Please remove it with this : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Please update to Flash Player Version: 27.0.0.183

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Two minutes to open a simple page is excessive, I agree. But we may need some additional information to be able to make suggestions specific to your situation. Here are some general thoughts:

I assume you saw this article: Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down.

Could you test the slow sites in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
