Yesterday 10/28 I downloaded the Thunderbird update. Since then I have been unable to send or receive email via Thunderbird. My ISP has checked all my settings

Yesterday I downloaded the new Thunderbird Update. Since then I have been unable to eitherr sent or receive mail via Thunderbird. My ISP has checked and double checked all my settings and all is well there. They also tell me they are receiving complaints from other Thunderbird users who can now no longer either send or receive via Thunderbird. This is obviously a bug at your end and needs to be fixed with a new download ASAP. As a long time Eudora and now Thunderbird user I hope this happens post haste.

As we don't all get that error and can't reproduce it, can you give us some more info:

  • Choose Troubleshooting Information

  • Paste this in your post.
  • Do you use anti-virus and firewall software? What is the version?
  • Who is the email provider?
  • Who is the internet provider?
  • What is the exact error message?
