How do I stop Firefox from asking me to resend the information every time I hit the back button?

I use my school library online. When I am finished viewing a document from the list, I need to hit the back button to return to the list. Every time I do this, Firefox tells me that the document is no longer available. This is annoying and keeps me from efficiently searching the library for the articles I need.

Open each of those documents in a new tab and when you're done reading a document close the tab, and resume viewing the original tab.

You can middle-click a link or hold down the Ctrl key and left-click the link to open the link in a new tab.

You get an alert about resending POST data if you go back to a page or refresh a page that was previously requested from the server by submitting form data via a (hidden) POST form. Firefox can only make sure to get the same page by resending that POST form. Firefox doesn't know what that form data means, so Firefox asks for confirmation before resending that form data as such an action can cause you to repeat an action and buy another item or post a message another time.

A way to prevent this confirmation pop-up about resending POST data is not to use the Back button, but to open links on a page requested from a server by sending a form with POST date in a new tab or window with a middle-click or hold down the Ctrl key (tab) or Shift key (window) and left-click the link. You can close that tab or window instead of using the Back button.

That is an excellent idea, however I still believe that I should be able to use my back button. When combined with the fact that the current version of Firefox hangs every time I highlight and copy text (which I absolutely must do to get the citation information where I can use it), this argues for the use of a different browser. I like Firefox, but I do need to get some work done without opening so many tabs that they are hard to find.

Fine, use it and deal with the POST data message all the time.

Okay, I'm going to install another browser. I really shouldn't have to, but at least I'll get my work done.
