hey there, i am having problems turning off the automatic translation within the firefox browser. concerning watching videos, it is pretty annoying, but doing any kind of research at all becomes difficult, if the translations do not make sense or have obvious mistakes. i also personally prefer to keep my apps in english, although i am located in germany.

i tried turning it off with specific sites, i have tried to add exceptions, i have tried to make it translate english sites into english. all without any real progress, i just keep getting weird, german AI-sentences. my only assumption is that it might be related to anti-virus software or vpn-related aspects.

if anybody has thoughts or maybe even a solution, you are very welcome to share. i would really appreciate it and thank you!

I'm running Windows 10 and recently switched from the ESR Channel version (128.11.1) to the Release Channel version (139.0.2) and, since then, have started having a problem where the unread email count displayed on the system tray icon and also the count on the Taskbar icon are no longer correct. Most incoming, unread emails aren't counted. This feature has always worked correctly for me previously, ever since I first installed Thunderbird several years ago. When I go into Thunderbird, the count of unread emails in whatever folder they're in is still correct, the problem is just with the counts on the taskbar and tray icons.

I'm not 100% sure, but I *think* it might be the case that emails which end up in the default "Inbox" folder are added to the counts, but those which are automatically allocated on arrival to other folders on the basis of filter rules aren't being added to the counts displayed on the icons. I have searched for others reporting the same issue and haven't been able to find anything, so it seems unlikely that it's a bug. I'd greatly appreciate any help in resolving this issue please.

i have multiple Thunderbird profiles which i start using seperate Shortcuts (.desktop files) and arguments: thunderbird -P 'profile-1' %u thunderbird -P 'profile-2' %u

But these seperate Profiles always get grouped together in the Taskbar. How can i avoid this? For FF there is some about:config setting (taskbar.grouping.useprofile)

FF ver 140. just loaded and now all my sidebar bookmark fonts are black on black. How do I change the sidebar bookmark font back to white? When I disabled all Themes the white color came back, but enabling any theme and they the font turns black again.

On starting my laptop and going online I noticed that my sidbar bookmarks text has turned black, it was previously white as I use the dark mode for my browser, I have tried changeing my theme and the only way to revert this is to not use any themes and just have white background which I dont want, is there any way to change this and why has it happened, I have been thought both Firefox and Windows settings but cant find a way to change it?

When "Moving" emails to folder links that are 3 levels down in "Local Folders", the "Recent Destinations" listing will only save the link as 'Inbox - Local Folders' - not the email folder 'saved to' which may be more than one level down from 'Local Folders'.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Thunderbird and I get the same results.

the current update with "do-full everyday tasks"; "search" and "find.." is really ingenious! The button "actions" shown in the introduction cannot be found or set with help. ANd, for example "@manage themes" in adress-line doesn't work.....

Hello, I have just upgraded to windows 11. On firefox I used to be able to right mouse click on the firefox icon in the taskbar to select my saved saved (Pinned) websites. In the past with Windows 10 I right mouse clicked on the url of favorite websites then drag and drop on the firefox icon in the taskbar and that was it. On Windows 11 that no longer works. How do I pin my favorite websites to the firefox icon in the taskbar on Windows 11? I thank anyone for your help.

Several years ago I made the mistake of committing myself to using Firefox and naturally I have had shitloads of problems ever since. Today I boot my computer and launch FF and it asks me if I want to "refresh for a new experience". I'm not an inbred retard so I declined. Now all my addons are gone. How the hell do I fix this? Please don't tell me "in the future use such and such addon to fix it when Firefox deliberately fucks up your addons". Thanks.

When I highlight/select an email message and then switch the sort option from Date to From, the same email is no longer highlighted and selected. The highlighting changes to a softer color and I have to select the email message again. The message selected should still be selected when switching the sort option.

When deleting several files on my site, Firefox asked me if I wanted to remove this warning popup.

I said yes.

Since then, I've been unable to delete files, because the popup no longer appears.

How can I reactivate it?

I have some websites that require pop-ups. I cannot get them to work in Firefox on my Android phone. Google searches reference a setting under "privacy and security" where I should be able to allow pop-ups in general or for certain URLs only, but I don't have that setting option.

I have Firefox version 139.4 if that helps.

I have a lot of Firefox windows and tabs open, and I really don't want to lose my session.

I wanted to open a webpage in Firefox in fullscreen mode. But evidently there's some kind of serious flaw in Firefox that makes it incapable of opening webpages in fullscreen mode. Everyone says the only workaround is to open the webpage in kiosk mode. So I tried it.

But now I have two big problems:

1. One of my Firefox windows, with all its tabs, is stuck in kiosk mode. (Even if I close the window and then restore it with Ctrl+Shift+T, it's still in kiosk mode.)

2. All new Firefox windows I open with Ctrl+N are also stuck in kiosk mode.

I don't know what to do, and I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!
