For the last month the amount of letters/numbers/symbols in my address bar has slowly become less. It only happens when I have more than 1 tab &/or window open. It is now at the point where I'll have no more than a dozen characters in the address bar down to absolutely nothing being displayed there. I had HP do a wipe of my HDD & reinstall of the entire MS OS a month ago. I noticed the issue a few days after that but it was also after the first of 2 FF updates. Sometimes it has bugs but usually the next update fixes it completely; but not this time. I'm not sure if it Is a FF issue. I have checked all thru here and even scrubbed thru MS Win10 support pages and found nothing anywhere similar. Attached is a current screenshot. As you can see, there are only 4 characters in this header while 2 others have None and one has 11 +, 4 numbers and 6 random letters. This has me totally baffled.

i tried to play video from sites but an error is coming "libavcodec may be vulnerable or is not supported, and should be updated to play video."

my machine already have libavcodec installed properly.

i had downloaded firefox 103 for linux from your site and extracted it then running the command firefox.

as firefox have all the required files in one folder to run firefox web browser so mozilla have to put the libavcodec in the same folder.

i have another web browser installed from other firm and they provided me the media codec separately as per my requirements and it is working very fine.

so mozilla also have to provide me the media codec separately or put the media codec in firefox distribution package.

Hi I am running Firefox 103 on my lenovo thinkpad T570 running windows 10. Streaming any video (e.g. BBC iPlayer or GCN+ or any source I have tried) Video very choppy, freezes for several seconds while audio continues as normal. this is essentially unusable. Task manager shows firefox running at 70% or more I have tried all the power management settings and that makes no difference. The Nvidia Gforce940 appears not to be used at all. All my drivers are up to date I have tried firefox troubleshoot mode, which makes no difference full screen mode or not makes no difference (its a 4k screen so I wondered if it was doing some kind of upscaling) makes no difference whether I run on external monitor or internal. Also makes no difference whether the laptop is connected to my thunderbolt dock or not. I can run the same content side by side in Chrome. Chrome displays the video smoothly with no glitches at all and consumes around 16% CPU (still no Nvidia GPU utilisation)

This problem does not happen on my other PC, a 5 year old Intel NUC, with i5 cpu, also running win 10 connected to my TV.

If i can't fix this I will have to very reluctantly revert to Chrome for video streaming I havent worked uot how to obtain the troubleshooting info to share but happy to do this if necessary

many thanks John

Why, with not very many active open windows, and just after opening, is FF using 175% of my CPU, not counting all the separate listings in my Activity Monitor. Plus it's using nearly all 16 GBs of my RAM. With every new update, I pray it will mean the browser will just work, and not use up all my computer's resources, but it just never does. Pretty soon, more & more of us will just give up on this browser, which used to work better, years ago, and has only gone downhill since.

Like in

my twitch tab stutters when i change from a different tab to the twitch tab. I don't have it everytime, it's really inconsistent. It appears that my video moves forward some seconds. Suggestions like in the link didn't helped for me.

I tried: - set media.suspend-bkgnd-video.enabled to false and restart -> didn't solve the issue -set media.suspend-bkgnd-video.enabled back to true and restart -> didn't solve the issue -set media.suspend-bkgnd-video.enabled to false set network.http.throttle.version to 1, restart,

set media.suspend-bkgnd-video.enabled to true again and restart -> nope

- set network.http.throttle.version to 0 and restart -> nope.

I'm really helpful for any ideas. Thanks in advance!

After the most recent update, v.103, any image-based PDF that I print out is extremely oversized despite appearing correctly in the print preview window. Does anyone know what could be causing this, besides an issue with the new update?

Hello. I've had this problem for over a month now ever since I switched to Firefox from Chrome.

Problem: Every once in a while, Firefox will suddenly be really slow and not load a page. When it finally does load, all text on the website is in the first font alphabetically on my computer. (I tested this by adding/removing fonts on my computer to confirm it was doing this and not just loading a specific font. I have a lot of fonts because I'm a graphic designer, and it's always picking the first font I have when they are all listed in alphabetical order.) This problem can occur on any website.

When the problem occurs: I thought it might be occurring when the computer or Firefox was low on memory, because the problem happens a lot more often when I am working (and thus have lots of programs and tabs open) than just browsing. I started working with both Windows's Task Manager and Firefox's Task Manager open so that when the problem occurs I can check to see what is happening. Memory usage when the problem happens is kind of high, usually around 50-70%, with Firefox being the most or second-most memory-intensive task in Windows Task Manager. But no other programs on my computer are slowing down when Firefox is, and Firefox's Task Manager is not showing any one tab/add-on using more than "Medium" usage. (Although notably, the tab that is having the problem is not showing up in Firefox's Task Manager at all.)

What I have tried:

  • checking and unchecking "use hardware acceleration" settings in Firefox. (It doesn't seem to matter, the problem still happens)
  • changing the default font settings in Firefox
  • closing and reopening Firefox. (This does fix the problem temporarily. After reopening Firefox and restoring the session, all pages load normally. But the problem will happen again later on a different site.)
  • restarting the computer (I shut down every night and turn the computer back on the morning. This problem still happens almost every day and often multiple times a day.)
  • Having fewer tabs open. (That does seem to decrease the chances of the problem happening, but it does not decrease those chances to zero. The problem has occurred with as few as five total tabs open.)
  • Checking add-ons (I'm not using very many add-ons in the first place—uBlockOrigin, Don't Accept webP, I don't care about cookies, and AutoDelete Cookies.) All of them are showing no or low usage in Firefox's Task Manager.

I am running Windows 10, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, with 16GB of RAM.

Has anyone else ever experienced this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm really sick of having to close and reopen Firefox in the middle of work.

I have just booted up my laptop and opened Firefox with three tabs viewing mostly text pages. Firefox has become unresponsive. Task manager shows Firefox running 19 sub tasks using nearly 1GB of Memory... see attached. I have a 'Congrats., you are using latest version' a couple of days ago. Thanks. Patrick

Hello,

Have recently lost the ability to print from Firefox. From the File Menu, from "3 lines" in the upper right, from ctrl-p. All result in spinning diagram and "Preparing Preview" and then just never getting further. Cannot think of any change I made in the last few days that would have caused this. Initially thought it was only when trying to print PDFs like a bank statement but now I see it is any web content I try to print.

Please help.

Thank you.

I've got web-extension proxying requests to the local server via nativeMessaging.

If server response with 307 and location "moz-extension://{ext-id}/page.html" browser displays it well. But when I try to refresh the page, error "Access to the file was denied" is occurred. Refreshing in any other cases works well:

 - direct jump to "moz-extension://{ext-id}/page.html"
 - displaying "moz-extension://{ext-id}/page.html" with browser.tabs.update

Such behavior was in several previous versions too, not just in the last 103 and but I didn't tested if it was always like this.

If I doing something wrong or this is browser issue?
