All of my history except of today's has disappeared. I did not erase my history, and really need it back. I did try to remove a couple of sites from my Most Visited, as Firefox was saving all sorts of sites I don't really visit often. In addition, I am being asked to sign in with my password at every site I go to where as before I was automatically allowed to enter, as all my passwords are saved. What happened - and how can I get back to normal?

Firefox version 152.0 : Firefox is continuously refreshing the page on a particular Website, in both Windows11 and Linux versions, making the site unusable ( unable to click anything ). The website loaded ok previously using Firefox and still loads ok using Chrome. Disabling extensions doesn't help, neither does deleting the cache and cookies. What changed and why? Is there anything else to try?

How do I stop this page from coming up several times a day. I have already set FireFox as my default browser, several times, but to no avail. I've careful followed your instructions. I dislike MS and have used FF for years. If this doesn't stop, I'll search for another browser that hopefully behave. I have set it on 4 computers, 2 Win 10, 2 Win 11.

By the way, the computers show FireFox twice, but only one actual installation.

The VPN was working a couple of days ago, but now if I switch it on, the browser is unable to use any website. The country is displayed in the bottom left corner as "Australia" even though I set the VPN to Canada.

See the subject. I've been seeing delays in launching for several months. I've run several windows defender malware checks (full and the one where it runs outside of anything brought up). I've reset firefox. I did all this also because I was seeing random ads from a news site from what they were trying to get me to do was install macafee (but it's malware). While I'm not seeing those ads now and I'm suspicious they can from the news site vs. my browser, I'm very aware of anything trying to capture screen scrapes. I'm even considering changing all my passwords as I'm not sure if anything was captured. This morning, firefox upon launch took a long time. Then it said installing updates. My desktop flashed and firefox launched. I have not installed anything or any addons, extensions, etc. So either this was firefox doing an update it needed or it's something else. I'm on windows 10.

Hi Community, I wanted to send a link to my desktop pc and saw that I'm not longer logged in. So I wanted to login again with my same acount and the same password I always used. The login site of Firefox sync shows: Password is invalid, but I never changed my password!

Now on my desktop pc (still logged in) I can't set a new password because there aswell my old password says 'Password is invalid'. Whar happend? Also to set a recovery key I need the old password aswell.

I have been told to disable my ad-blocker by some commercial web sites and I understand that. But I am also not seeing charts and other non-ad items on web sites such as this one: https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/alcohols-health-myth-over-how-tell-patients-2026a1000map?ecd=wnl_tp10_daily_260703_MSCPEDIT_etid8475291&uac=146695DK&impID=8475291. I don't want to change my default browser but this is a recent development that seems to be impairing my viewing of pertinent items placed on legitimate web sites. Hi, I had to reinstall my windows where I thought my Firefox would sync up upon reinstallation. However, nothing would sync up and the best I could do myself was to import pretty out-of-date Chrome data. When I to my firefox account and scroll to connected services I see my last PC name with its firefox login. Is there any way to recover that data and import to my current device? I read you kept sync data as encrypted data on your Mozilla servers, so I hope that's a viable solution.

I used to ignore these, but today I clicked through to see the extended code and it looks like the unauthorization was to log into my bank account at CHASE, which is concerning. I have a separate login, not an automatic one. I someone trying to get into my bank account?

I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

When I add sites for exceptions, why isn't this carried with my Firefox account and it shows up in every instance of Firefox when i am signed in? It is a nuisance to keep re-adding them everywhere. Also, when Firefox updates, why do I have to re=enter what I already done. It is a pain.

Firefox unable restore session when switching profiles and instead opening apps installed on the profile I'm switching to.

I have installed Whatsapp web (web.whatsapp.com) on "Profile 1" as a Windows app.

I have some tabs open in "Profile 1" and I switch to "Profile 2" and close the "Profile 1" window with "X" button of Windows 11 but keep the Whatsapp window open.

When I open the "Profile 1" from profile menu, my expectation is that, those previous tabs should be restored, but firefox is opening the Whatsapp web app/window.

OS: Windows 11 23H2 Firefox: 152.0.4

I have Mozilla VPN installed on my computer, but not in Firefox. Recently, whenever I turn the VPN on or off, the tab I have open in Firefox reloads. This usually doesn't matter, but sometimes it's really annoying, like when I'm really deep in an infinite scroll website. I want to turn it off, but I tried turning accessibility.blockautorefresh on in about:config, and it still does it. I don't want to blindly mess with settings when I don't know what they do. Does anyone know if there's a setting/group of settings I can use to stop Firefox from reloading on network change?

I believe when I wanted to update to a newer Firefox version, I chose the one right before the change to tab history where it said something about not saving as many presumably due to websites that can open several pages within a tab in a second or 2.

I don't know if this is the cause, but now whenever I open several YouTube pages it can fail to save one of them to web history. I don't know if it's because some pages open a &pp= page first and then when it switches to a clean video ID URL Firefox doesn't log all of them because of that tab history change?

Either way I'd also like to revert that tab history change if it's not the cause, is there already an about:config setting? Or is this just like the tags-in-history-window change and it will never be re-introduced..

I'd probably need to update Firefox within a few years anyway when some new thing unsupported on older Firefox is introduced, so if I revert to v131 that works better I may be in the same position a few years later. Idk if I can revert with the current profile data anyway.

This morning I was signed out of my VPN and it didn't even open when I logged into my PC. I was getting targeted ads when I opened my browser so was confused. Opened the VPN, was logged out and search around the internet, unprotected, to try and gain access again.

Now, what is the point in a VPN if I have to rummage around the internet all the time first in order to hide my presence. Why? was I automatically logged out? Why were the settings on my computer changed such that the VPN was no longer enabled as a start-up app? How often will I be logged out of my account in the future? Why does Mozilla of all companies still think I am logging in from a different location every time when I access my account even without the use of their VPN?

I'll be able to get some peace of mind if these questions are answered and I'll be able to change my provider if not.
