After probably more than a decade using Firefox, I suddenly cannot access my email on Xfinity. Now I have to use Chrome to get to my email. The message I get is:
Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to oauth.xfinity.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR
I looked at the Help for this and couldn't understand any of it; besides which, the help didn't have this specific error; instead mentioned 2 other types of error: SSL ERROR RX MALFORMED HANDSHAKE and SSL ERROR UNSUPPORTED VERSION

I have a Microsoft outlook.com email address that I use for my FF account. My authenticator email was setup in Authy without problem however FF does not accept its 2FA 6 digit code which makes me think the app may not be compatible with FF. My cell and laptop are setup to auto recognize location for time setting.

Time and time again i come across websites that show a https only mode alert. When i klick to connect anyway, the connection DOES show https instead of http in the adressbar. How does this work? I do remember that previously (might already be over a year ago) when visiting http websites the connection is the adressbar shows http and not https, with a red color and warning icon saying that the site doesn't support https, but now as already said the connection becomes https even when the alert clearly said https isn't available.

When I add certificate exceptions, such as for my router's self-signed certificate, Firefox forgets the exception at seemingly random intervals. Often this happens in several days. In one case it was overnight. This has been going since at least early 2023, probably a year.
In noticed Firefox also forgets settings like "allow popups" set on a site (like on Gmail for example), but not necessarily at the same time as certificate exceptions are forgotten. Other settings don't seem to be changed or forgotten.
These problems occur on different Macs using the same Mozilla account. Refreshing Firefox has made no difference.

Been using firefox for 10 years to access xfinity/comcast email and suddenly can't do it. Keep getting error message "An error occurred during a connection to oauth.xfinity.com PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR". I've switched to Microsoft Edge for the time being but would appreciate getting back to Firefox if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Hyatt.com links to websites work on every other browser (Chrome, Brave, Opera, Edge) but hotel websites on Firefox just spin endlessly and use too many resources. They never finish loading. I've turned off ad blockers, DuckDuckGo, and a few other add-ons to see if they're the issue, adjusted multiple other settings (proxy, etc.) and it makes no difference. This is becoming an issue with multiple websites in Firefox in recent weeks.
Fix your browser.

Steps: - Type anything into address bar (or navigate to a webpage) - Select any text in address bar - Copy the text (either with Ctrl+C or right-click menu) - Try to paste in any app besides Firefox
Expected behavior: - The copied text will paste
Outcome: - No text is pasted - No new entry is shown in the KDE clipboard
Any link on any webpage that I try to copy also exhibits this behavior. However, if I just select normal text on a webpage and copy it, everything works as intended. Maybe there's an issue with copying things that Firefox labels as "links"?
While I can access Comcast email through Safari, this morning I'm unable to access it through Firefox. I get a notice of not secure.

I have spent too much time trying to understand what is the deal with firefox bookmarks. It should be pretty simple. I have a bunch of folders that I add bookmarks to. I can see all the folders when I add another bookmark. But that's it. They are not available to go to, to find a bookmark. There are no folders. There are a bunch of bookmarks listed in "always show". Then if I do a search for answers, the answers do not address the issue bc it seems everyone who uses firefox has the same issue. My bookmarks aren't "hidden". What I need is to see the same setup with my folders when I want to find a bookmark that I see when I'm saving a bookmark, instead of scrolling through 1000 bookmarks with no context. (There is also no way for me to delete or clean up folders.) I need to access all the information I have stored in an organized, productive, fast way. It appears there are a lot of other frustrated people on these discussions with the same issue. I couldn't find any information or discussion of a system for clicking on something, opening up a folder, and clicking on the needed bookmark.

Hello, While not on every occurrence of starting Firefox, too many times Firefox won't bring up its home page (Google) because two applications running in the background (Memeo Premium Backup and Trusteer Rapport) start to run at the same time and contribute at least 70% of the CPU load, with Firefox accounts for another 20%.
I imagined that Google is flooding Firefox with a lot of files that Memeo begins tabulating for transfer in anticipation of its external backup drive being eventually switched on.
So I decided to tell Memeo to specifically exclude two system folders which might be storing temporary files when Firefox is active.
C:\Users\**\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox C:\Users\**\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox
Doing this did not improve things, as Memeo and Trusteer occasionally turn on as Firefox is starting up.
Does anyone know of any other folders which could be potential locations for temporary data that Memeo may feel obligated to interact with.
Thanks

I asked a few "security/privacy" addon creators this question: "
Hail all:
First off, a note to explain this post: I have severe Asperger's and ADHD. I work for a Corporation that handles delicate data. Now, my Asperger's requires clarity, but this ad-on is all BUT clear. Which is a serious annoyance, since, more and more, life is becoming unclear, due to continuous contradictions everywhere. More so ... it, at first glance, appears to be not quite right: The ad-on promises security and privacy, BUUUUUT ... does seemingly the absolute opposite? Let me explain:
So, I got the Multi-Account Container ad-on. Upon installing it, it requested:
Access your data for all web sites Access browsing history Monitor extension usage and manage themes Access browser tabs
Why on earth are these needed? Now, you speak of privacy, security, all very nice, but then you throw these "necessities" in the ad-on, which totally counter the promised privacy, security and whatnot.
I have certain data that I access through the Private Window in Firefox, related to my work. Several tabs are Corporate Account information, log ins, ... , which I darn sure refuse to give out. Not to mention, Corporate project data.
Your "necessities" breach privacy, security, and even invoke the possibility of personal data theft, bank data theft, and even, indeed so, Corporate espionage!
1) Access data for all websites: Why not just ask the darn info directly? I will open the Corporation for you, give you all access keys. Way faster. 2) Access browsing history: If you need money, just ask ... I do not like my data shoved out for money so they can "offer targetted advertising". I HATE advertising, each ad I encounter brings my IQ down by 10 %, because my poor dumb brain can't understand the stream of lies in those. Also: you have no rights to dive into my history data, it is "private" for a reason, protected by LAW. This then breaches these Privacy Laws. 3) Monitor extension usage and manage themes: Oh? Am I per chance a COMPLETE idiot? That I can't read, or think? I am quite sure, I am just clever enough to handle this myself, I reckon. Could be wrong, but then there's google and the likes to help me out, in case I do not find the right colour and icon for my tab. 4) Access Browser Tabs: Here's a smarter idea, I think ... well, for as far as I CAN think, seeing the above uncalled for "assistance" provided: Come to my place and have my computer. Direct access thus no need to do all that network doing thingy needed for remote Browser Access.
Sorry for appearing angry, but these kinds of "necessities to ensure the ad-on to work". This ad-on can just as well work without these "kindly offered assist tools". So why are they in here, while you provide your ad-on as a means to secure and privatise my data?
I would appreciate some information here. Thank you."
I received no reply yet, though I asked 11 creators nigh 2 weeks ago. Seems ... fishy ... no? I mean, can someone give an explanation on this?
Thank you. Ben
