I have my settings configured so that when I close the window with all my current tabs, I can reopen it and have the same exact window saved after closing them and shutting down my computer. This has worked perfectly fine until a week ago. Now when I start up my computer and open firefox, the window opens briefly and then closes on its own. I've checked and theres no crash reports. Each time this happens I open firefox again and get a completely new window and I have to go into history recently closed windows to get the original window open and then take great care to make sure the other window is closed first. The first time this happened I was really unfortunate and lost tabs I had opened for years. I would really like a functioning browser again.

Hello, Thanks in advance for your help. I am having trouble logging into "trusted" web sites with Firefox and every update seems to add to my problem. By "trusted" web sites I mean sites like Charles Schwab, Spectrum and iCloud as well as my city's water department and my local hospital's portal. It doesn't matter whether I use "normal" Firefox or its privacy mode or safe mode-the problem persists. I am running Firefox version 134.0.2 but the problem goes back several months. I have Windows 10 and use Malwarebytes Browser Guard. The only other add on I use is Print Friendly & PDF. It doesn't matter whether these addons are running or not. The problem seems to involve either a loop, blank fields or very odd error messages. Some examples are below:

iCloud allows me to get to the point where it asks me to supply the 6 digit verification code. I enter the code and the site loads. Approximately 2 seconds later, before I can navigate to anything in iCloud, I am taken back to the log in screen to start over. The loops repeat as often as I want to try. Clearing cache and history does nothing. Since there is nothing abnormal (no error message or blank fields) I have not included a screen shot.

Spectrum allows me to enter my credentials waits a while and then gives me an odd error message about Feature Unavailable and suggests that I try logging in from home. I might add that all of these problems occur while I AM at home. Screen shot attached.

Charles Schwab allows me to get to the log in screen but the screen is unusable. There is a message that the session has timed out and I need to log in. The log in sections of the screen are blank which leads me to believe that the page is not loading all the way but that is a guess. Screen shot is attached.

I can log into all these pages with Edge (which I dislike using) with no problems at all.

I have Firefox set to automatically delete cookies and site data when closed. Privacy is set to Standard.

I would really appreciate any help that you can give me. Please note that the screen shots are BMP files that I had to rename to GIF files to get them to upload.

A (supposed) Firefox update on my computer at 13:00 Tuesday 8th January AEST crashed and eliminated all my open tabs and all of my Bookmarks. The update was unusual - Firefox usually does it's updates when you start using it. This time I was using Firefox doing multiple things and boom, request for an update then collapse. Did anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know why such a catastrophic event might have happened.

Ever since the last update, Firefox doesn't open the homepage automatically. Unless I click the home button (or click another bookmark), the browser just times out without loading anything. I tried opening in troubleshoot mode but the same thing happens there too -- nothing loads. I tried refreshing, but all that did was change the toolbar a bit (removed the home button, so I needed to restore it). I haven't been able to find anything in the settings that would account for this behavior. Help!

Hi, I'm having some issues with Firefox. I'm opening a website (which I usually visit) even slower than with Tor at the same time. I'd love to know why and how to fix it.

For a few months, and I've seen this happen randomly over the last 5-10 years - pressing enter doesn't work, and sometimes dragging a new link into the empty tab space next to the tabs creates a new tab with the URL in the URL box, but not 'opened'

Does firefox have some issue with loading a web page?

I use ublock origin on default settings, and violent-monkey and stylish for scripting.. but would that disable searching google from a new tab?

Recently several apps that I have used for a long time are, for the first time, requiring 2 factor authentication, including Facebook. Additionally, apps which I had accessed with user name & password, now saved and unchanged, but that I do not "own" are also requiring two factor authentication - in particular, Google Drive. Has something changed?

I'm no longer able to play youtube videos on Firefox. I've tried everything from re-starting laptop (this worked initially) to refreshing/ updating Firefox browser as well as clearing Firefox cache and cookies. Any help will be appreciated.

I go in and set the Search engine to DuckDuckGo but it defaults back to Google every time I start the app again. Firefox 128.6.0esr macOS 14.7.2.

Will return to my previous browser if FF doesn't allow my choice of Search engine.

I reinstalled windows yesterday. When I installed firefox and signed it, everything was fine. However, this morning, it seems to have removed 80% of my bookmarks. When I try to restore from the bookmarks yesterday, it just gives me the ones that I have this morning. I had tons and tons of resource bookmarks for my work that would be almost impossible to re-find in some cases due to the current state of search engines. Is there any way to salvage them? It seems like sync believes they never existed, but it DID sync them yesterday??? Please help.

The font size in "Manage Bookmarks" is way too large, both in the sections list menu on the left and the list of bookmarks. I checked my userChrome.css file as well as the layout.css.devPixelsPerPx entry in about:config and there's nothing there to explain why only the "Manage Bookmarks" text is so large.

It's possible I changed a setting somewhere that's causing this. But I'm stumped re: what setting might be controlling the font size in only that UI. All other Firefox text sizes are good.

Okay, I know this is a weird, super niche, and kind of ridiculous question, but who doesn't want to have their cake and eat it too? Basically, I want two browser windows open, when I open a tab, or switch a tab in one window, it does the exact same thing in the second window. Maybe someone knows if this is possible.

Since I'm sure you are scratching your head right now, I have a multi-monitor setup, two horizontal and one vertical. At any given time I have 6 to 10 windows open across the three of them, and another 10 to 15 windows minimized (and for what it is worth, currently 132 tabs, but that's about to go up after I finish this post). In some cases I work off of lists, and in all cases I have so many tabs open TreeStyleTabs is a must.

For working off a list, or for navigating between tabs, a longer vertical window is preferred; however, for working on an account or using portals a wider horizontal window is usually preferred, with some exceptions. I'd love it if I could get the best of both worlds, have the same window on two monitors, that way I can use the vertical aspect of it to reference my lists, and open/navigate between accounts, but actually work on the accounts on my horizontal window.

If this is impossible, I won't lose sleep over it, but if this is possible, omg is my productivity going to go up by like 1%, which is around 30 to 45 minutes a week, that's like over a free day of work a year.

I can no longer open my gmail in firefox. I need to open chrome to load my gmail and I never use chrome. So why can't I load gmail into my firefox account. Everything else is loaded except my gmail.
