No, because I went asked FF29 to check the extension and it said it was the latest. I then went to the add-ons section of the support website and searched for an update but was told Nope! NADA! However, user Moses found that there was indeed an updated version and pointed me to it. However, in order for the updated extension to work in FF29, I had to install ANOTHER extension! Anyway, I have it working and it will do until I can re-install FF28. FF29 still looks like the developers were high on drugs when they wrote it.

Maybe they used to work for Google? Or maybe Google has bought out Mozilla?

Nah, they are already in some kind of financial Google connection, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Foundation ... as far as I know there is no direct link between Firefox and Google, but a link of some kind is there for certain.

There is a financial link indeed. Google pays Mozilla to use Google as their default search engine.

Feel free to use the old unsupported and insecure versions of Firefox. Please however remember that puts your System and personal data at an increased risk. You may then wish to mitigate that by having well rehearsed bare metal restore strategies or using a virtual machine.

A great virtue of Firefox is that it is highly customisable. So even if it is developed for the convenience of the majority it can be modified. I imagine many people will continue and try Firefox 29 modifying it if necessary.

If you let us know what this vital addon is that no longer works maybe someone will have some solution or workaround to help you.

Joni, I would like it to look like this screenshot, particularly the Title Bar, Navigation Bar, Menu Bar, and Tabs. I tried to use the Classic Restore add-on but could NOT get it this way; it still looked like FF29 was designed while they were doped up.

Note that the old Firefox 28.0 does not have the security fixes that Firefox 29.0 got as per http://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html

Said "security" fixes could have been down without changing the "look-and-feel" to mimic Chrome. Besides, whenever someone says they don't like something in a new version, the vendor always defensively trots out the "security" horse. I've come to believe that a lot of those "for security" remarks are as valid as is "If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it. PERIOD", "The check is in the mail", and "Of course I'll respect you ..."

Anyway, I'm happily back at FF28 and will delete "Chromefox" from my computer. Meanwhile, I've turned of auto-update so I don't get sandbagged again, and will start looking at other web browsers.
