Upon entering items into the search bar and entering I receive the following:

 The address isn't valid
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
Web addresses are usually written like
 http://www.example.com/
Make sure that you're using forward slashes (i.e./).

I have tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling but the problem still remains.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

hello, please try to install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common search related settings in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
