Is it neccessary to hijack my homepage on every update with 4.0?

Since 4.0 upgrade, every auto update leaves me with three pages. The add new plug-ins promo, the Welcome to a new update page and a Forefox themed search page as the About:page.

Firefox Home page becomes my new permanent home page by surprise. I have to change it back with every push.

Not a biggie I know, but even the lesser browsers 'ask' if I want to change my homepage. Thanks for reading.

Check your list of home pages, they may be stored as home pages - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page

Thanks for the reply Tony. Well, I only use the one page and it is a local page. I read through the linked article which outlines how to have FF load multiple tabs at start up, but I have not utilized that.

After auto-updating, it is not a problem that it loads multiple pages on first run (update notice page, FF start page, random add-on promo page) . Just that it wipes out my set homepage and basically does the default reset as described in the article. So it goes from my solo homepage to FF default solo homepage.

I would much rather have my homepage of choice survive upgrades as to not have to navigate and pick it each time there is an update. Perhaps this is just happening to me? Or maybe because my homepage is a local file? Either way it's only a small nuisance and wonder if it by design or fluke.
