I have an Huawei Ascend Android phone for MetroPCS and I think it is a great device. If I had my choice of of browsers it would be Firefox, and to prove it I would love to be able to download it to my device. However, Every time I try to download Firefox Mobile to my device, I get the message "The Requested Item Could Not Be Found". Is this app actually available and if so, why can't I download it to my device?

Sorry, Firefox is not available for the Huawei Ascend. For details, see: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#System_Requirements

As interesting as this answer is, it doesn't really solve or answer my question. Does this answer mean that I can't get Firefox for my device? Does it mean that Firefox is not developing or won't develop an app for my device? If there is an alternative Firefox app, where do I find it and how do I get it on my device? Or do I have deal with the crap-eating answer of "get a new phone, Hyuck hyuck!"?

Please, I am sure the answer was well meaning, but it was very terse and sparse and just left me with more questions. Is it possible to get an answer that is a bit more inclusive and informative?

Thank you.

Firefox uses the Thumb-2 instruction set, which is available only on ARMv7 processors. This optimization makes it smaller and faster, but prevent it from running on older or lower-end devices with ARMv6 processors.

At the link above, there is a version of Firefox that does not use Thumb-2, so it should run on ARMv6 devices. However, it is unsupported and does not currently work very well, or at all.

We're still working on making Firefox smaller and faster. If we get it fast and small enough that it can run well even without ARMv7 optimizations, then we might work on supporting ARMv6 devices. But for now, Firefox does not support these older or lower-end phones, and we are not actively working on adding support for them. Sorry!

Thank you very much, Mr Brubeck(?), this answer was much more comprehensive and very much appreciated!! I will try to download the version of Firefox that your link points to and, if what you say is true, cross my fingers

Thank you again for your help, Mr. Brubeck, and thank you for being understanding and patient with me. I know me, and sometimes that's not easy!!
