Need to reset "Your browser is being managed by your organization" setting on an older Mac

I'm on an iMac desktop using OS X 10.7.5 running Firefox Legacy as my browser, and I have Norton Internet Security running as well.

Lately I'm getting the "Your browser is being managed by your organization" message.

This is my personal computer since I bought it in 2012 and it's never been out of my house.

Quite a few websites refuse to load properly. Linkedin, for example. After entering the password, I can't get the actual web page to appear; all I get is a progress wheel running to infinity.

How do I change this "browser being managed" setting?

NOTE: I've searched and I don't have a policies/json file on my machine.

This is likely because your security software want to monitor your internet traffic and needs to inject its root certificate in Firefox to prevent getting untrusted connection issues.

You can click the "Your browser is being managed by your organization" message, that should bring you to the about:policies page where you can see more info.
