Greetings!

I use a Mac 27" desktop and when trying to log into Facebook receive this error message:

Login approval needed We noticed a login from a browser, device or location you don't usually use. We need to confirm it was you before you can get back on Facebook. Learn more

I am not understanding the browser & desktop issue. I was able to log in to Facebook on my iPad, but still unable to access the desktop. I seem to be in an endless loop with Facebook.

Did you see anything you could click on? That sounds like the website wanted to do a 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)

Hi FredMcD! Happy 2022. Yes, I see things to click on but that does not solve the problem.

I could spend all day changing my password and it still states: Login approval needed We noticed a login from a browser, device or location you don't usually use. We need to confirm it was you before you can get back on Facebook. Learn more

I tried the identify your recent comments and that bounces me back to "Log in Approval"

I have a code from a trusted friend but can not get to the link to enter it.

Doo-dah, doo-dah

Thank you, Deborah

I suggest contacting their support.

Hi Fred, Please share the contact link. Since I can not log in, I can not contact support.

Any idea why I keep getting the message about not recognizing my device, location or browser?

Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox {web link}

Remove a single website from your history {web link}

Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings And Passwords.

Hi FredMcD,

I have no idea what you are suggesting I do. I clear the history every time I shut down the desktop. I also use the Safari delete web history on the iPad.

Are you asking me to completely remove Facebook, and reinstall it?

You suggested I contact FB, so I asked you for FB contact information since I can not contact FB.

Why are you sending a link to bing? Fortunately now that I use Mac's I do not have the bing infestation in/on computer.

Could be a problem with your Avast security software, so maybe check that.

Hi cor-el,

Okay, how do I check that? Right now, I am rather frustrated, duh, so the calm/rational side of looking at things is not working very well... Thank you.

Sometimes removing the website's data in the browser can clear an issue.

The link is for a search for how to contact FaceBook. Look at it.

Hi Fred, No way will I ever knowingly click on bing.

I did look for Facebook contact information and several other well respected tech sites said phones do not work.

Let me try a few thing and see what tomorrow brings...

Thank you, Deborah
