streaming video stops when browser's tab goes out of focus
It happens in both Firefox and Chrome browsers but only with certain websites. Is it by design of the streaming source or the browser's fault? thanks

Does it keep working if you open the video in a separate standalone window that you can possibly maximize or does it work in a PiP (picture-in-picture) window ?

Most likely these streaming websites use Page Visibility API, so it must be by design.
Thank you. That explains why the streaming stops (lost focus) mostly during commercials. I wonder, if there is some method to avoid that except having streaming video running on the separate computer?

Thank you for your suggestion. Opening the window as PiP (picture-in-picture) window does not have that problem. /jas
