Note that you likely need to reinstall Firefox (Firefox 77 is scheduled to come later this week).


If you have a problem with the Firefox icon in the Dock then try to reinstall Firefox and drag the current Firefox application to the Trash.

The chosen solution doesn't work for me... permanently anyway. The icon will stop working (both in taskbar and in start menu) after a while or a restart or something. I have already reinstalled firefox... Oddly, even though the icon is broken, the right click menu from the taskbar still works and allows me to select "open new tab". And the browser still does work (using it to post). Is this Windows meddling?
