Yahoo hijacked my google search engine.
It started about the time Yahoo got their certificate 3 months ago. I tried everything and no matter what I put in, when I click Google Search, Yahoo comes up. I hated it but I lived with it when I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Now their certificate has expired and I no way to go online at all! Help please!!! Thanks, Judy

I went to where you sent me and Swift Tab was the only extension enabled. I didn't know if you wanted me to delete that one. Judy
Hi Judy, where did you get Swift Tab from and what does it do for you? If it's not essential -- you can live without it for a couple hours -- please disable it as a test. The ••• menu button on the right side of the extension's listing will give you that option.

I guess I didn't word that quite correctly. If I know the address I can go there but if I don't, I have no way to look it up. For instance I know Amazon is Amazon.com. If I didn't know that, I could google it and it would say official web site. I have always used Google to make sure the address is correct. Thanks again, Judy
It sounds like you have a third party program that has taken over your search engine, home page, and/or the default new tab page. Fortunately, this can be remedied easily:
- Click the menu button The image "fx57menu" does not exist. and choose Add-ons.
- In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Extensions panel.
- Select the toolbar you wish to remove.
- Click the Remove button.
- Click "Restart now" if it pops up. Your tabs will be saved and restored after the restart.
For further information, please read Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page.
Did this fix the problem? Please let us know!
One more thing--even when I typed in bing for search engine, it still tried to search with operatetoolfind.info which is the Yahoo thing.

I have no idea where Swift Tab came from. Below the name was the explanation that it "makes swift searches from your omni box.
However, YIPEE!! I disabled it and my problem is gone! Thank you so much. Now I should go back and delete it, right?? Thanks again, Judy

Hi Judy, deleting any unrecognized add-on is a good idea.
I had same issue and once I deleted Swift Tab, my problem was fixed
