I can't add new addresses to my contacts either manually or clicking "add to address book" with a new email, plus some existing addresses are gone

I noticed yesterday that a client I've been sending multiple emails to daily for the last five years would not come up automatically when I typed in his name. I checked my address book, and it was not there. Another email I tried would not come up either, except I did find this one in my address book. At first I thought that maybe it wasn't auto filling when starting to type in the name, but other names were coming up, just not the one I wanted. It seems (haven't confirmed this for all) that the addresses that are NOT coming up are five years old or newer. The ones that are coming up are older than that. In the past few weeks, I HAVE had a number of crashes, or have had to hard reboot because of my start up disc being full. Just trying to give you all the clues I know of. Thanks so much for any help.

It may be helpful to rebuild your address book, which seems to have been corrupted:

1) In Address Book, select Personal Address Book, then Tools/Export, save as type:LDIF, name the LDIF file.

2) Select Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder (Mac: Show in Finder) to open the profile folder, exit TB, rename abook.mab to abook.bak.

3) Restart TB, Tools/Import...Address books...Text file...select the LDIF file from 1).

4) In Address Book, select the imported address book in the left pane, then select all the contacts in the right pane (Ctrl-A) and drag them onto the Personal Address Book icon.

Changes to PAB should now be retained.
