So after i reinstalled windows today i noticed my bookmarks are missing. I tried to use restore option but there is only one file in there and its a wrong one. This is the 1st time i didnt export my bookmarks to USB because last 5 times i reinstalled windows all i had to do is to log with my account and bookmarks would be there. But for some reason this time that didnt happen.

I did 2 different things this time i installed windows. I installed new HDD and i had to change my mozzila password when i installed windows cos i forgot old one. I dont think its a new HDD problem because every time i reinstall windows i wiped clean my old HDDs.

Is there anything else i could do? Im not very good with stuff like this so im kinda stuck. I tried searching online for some info but couldnt find a fix.

I even went to www.google.com/bookmarks but old bookmarks are not there. I can only see 2 new bookmarks i added today.

It sounds like those bookmarks were in FireFox and not in google. And if that's the case then without those bookmarks backup then it is most likely gone. Once a drive is formatted if those were Firefox bookmark they are gone and recovery is next to impossible after formatting.

Do you still have the old hard drive available to rescue data from, or do you have a backup of its contents?

Did you reset the password for your Firefox Account? (as described in: I've lost my Firefox Sync account information - What to do) Unfortunately, a password reset flushes all your Sync data, so that would explain why you couldn't get anything back after that.

Were you sync'ing another installation of Firefox that you could go to and get copies of your data files?

Do you have your old USB exports? That might be better than nothing! Depending on the format you used:

Yes i did reset my password yesterday because i lost old one :) And im trying to recover data on my old HDD with EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Its kinda strange because i always format my HDD and i never lost any bookmarks.

After my attempt to recover data from my HDD ill try the same thing on my USB :) at least i can get some older bookmarks back.

Thanks for the replays guys :)

If you are referring to Sync and a Firefox Account password, you get a warning that your Sync data will be deleted from the Sync server when you go to set a new password for your Firefox Account.

The 'thing' is that your data was encrypted using the password that you "lost", a different password won't decrypt a users data.

Sorry that happened, it is a common user mistake with Firefox 29 and later versions when using Sync.
