Cannot access Container even in menu bar.

Recently I installed firefox after installing fresh windows 10. Unfortunately I cannot access containers. There is no sign of container in menu bar, right click open in > container, or customize menu. Firefox sync is enabled on my account. After syncing the firefox "some of the extensions" also didn't installed. I had to install it manually.

Hi, there is no sign of Containers in your Extensions.

From where or what did you do to enable or install containers ?

Please follow below URL starting with installing Link at the top.

I know what are containers how to use them. But I don't know how to install them. I think from the version 57 container's are installed by default. But in my case it's don't.

Hi, also are you syncing to another device or using Sync as a Backup ? If using as a Backup Sync is not designed to do that and you will loose your data.

PROFILE EXTENSIONS Try to click Restore Defaults in the Customize palette.

It is possible that there is a problem with files in the profile folder that store the extensions registry.

Delete the extensions.* files (extensions.json, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

See "Corrupt extension files":

You can check if there is a update available in case of issues.

  • click the cogwheel button (left of the Search bar) on the about:addons page to "Check for updates"

If this didn't help then delete add-ons.json and possibly prefs.js in case there is a problem with preferences.

Copy/Paste about:preferences#containers to the Address Bar and Enter

Bottom of the URL in dark colour : For advanced users https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers Copy/Paste about:config to the Address Bar and Enter then paste into Search at top of open window Copy/Paste 1 at a time and change by double click to true, last one will right click : privacy.userContext.enabled set to true privacy.userContext.ui.enabled to true privacy.userContext.longPressBehavior to 2

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

This extension adds some convenient ways to use the containers technology in Firefox:
