You fools (the management, not you)! Don't you know that you lose users every day by hasseling us about upgrading?

STOP with the auto-upgrade to the new FF or you risk losing me too! I will upgrade on MY schedule, not yours. Stop hassling me and many others with this ill-conceived scheme!

Hi,

The people who answer questions here, for the most part, are other Firefox users volunteering their time (like me), not Mozilla employees or Firefox developers.

If you want to leave feedback for Firefox developers, you can go to the Firefox Help menu and select Submit Feedback... or use this link. Your feedback gets collected by a team of people who read it and gather data about the most common issues.

Probably a rhetorical question, but : have you checked the settings in the 3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Options => General => scroll down to 'Firefox Updates'  ?

Another thing to do :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar app.update.auto and set its value to false Then close and restart Firefox.

So when were you planning to upgrade to current Firefox as you appear to be using a Firefox 56.0 version as 56.0.2 was Released back on October 26, 2017.

Note older versions do not have the security fixes that more current versions have, some of which are critical.

I am aware of all of this. But since I employ some of the best defense against all of it, have had no security issues (yet), I still want to upgrade on my schedule, i.e. when I have time.

As I read about "app:update.auto" I find: "download and install updates automatically, possibly with a warning if incompatible extensions are installed (see app.update.mode)" and then "app.update.mode" both infer that both settings point to addons.

Find in Mozilla folders : Updater.exe and rename it Updater-old.exe

What you miss when you do not update :

Happy Browsing.
