I just changed my old laptop hard disk with a new one and right now I want to import all bookmarks and history from the old disk.

Before this, I never had a Mozilla acoount so I cant sync my browser like in one of the article solutions.

So, is there any things and any ways that i can salvage from my old hard drive?.

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you.

Easy way to always have your bookmarks is from the Firefox Toolbar/Menu Bar click Bookmarks --> Show all Bookmarks --> Import and Export Export to HTML. Mine started from Win 95,

The other way to save bookmarks, history, passwords is stored in your Profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles These are all compressed java files. So you can open up the folder and copy paste a file to another profile. You can have more than one profile in Firefox also.

Note : Firefox 49 is a security risk to run. Note : Firefox 56.0.2 is current release https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ Full Version Installer Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You can copy files from the profile folder on one device to the profile folder on another device.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

You can copy files like these with Firefox closed to the current profile folder to recover specific data. Note that you should be cautious with copying SQLite database files if you previously had problems.

  • bookmarks and history: places.sqlite
  • bookmark backups: compressed .jsonlz4 backups in the bookmarkbackups folder
  • cookies.sqlite for the cookies
  • formhistory.sqlite for saved form data
  • logins.json and key3.db (decryption key) for Passwords saved in the Password Manager
  • cert8.db and possibly cert_override.txt for (intermediate) certificates stored in the Certificate Manager
  • persdict.dat for words you added to the spelling checker dictionary
  • permissions.sqlite for Permissions and possibly content-prefs.sqlite for other Site Preferences
  • sessionstore.jsonlz4 for open tabs and pinned tabs
