mail spool file not found - Seamonkey on Ubuntu
I have had trouble with thunderbird and seamonkey with this problem and can't rectify it

Are you trying setting up your mail accounts as POP or IMAP instead of Spool.
I have never seen a instance in this forum of someone with your issue actually meaning to use the spool file. A Linux/Unix only feature. Almost all folks need to use IMAP or POP to retrieve their mail from the provider.

I have tried setting up email account on both seamonkey & thunderbird using both POP & IMAP but to no avail I can't get rid of mail spool error
Please explain in detail the steps you're doing when setting up the account.
