Unable to delete spamassasin help !

This is driving me to distraction spamassasin keep junking important mail when I go into tools and uncheck and or delete spamasssasin however the next time I look it's back there checked and deleting important mail HELP ! Is it possible to shitcan this insidious feature from hell or do I just have to use3 a different mail client ?

Spam assassin is software running on your providers mail server. It is not part of Thunderbird.
