sorting files to be attached

I have Thunderbird 45.0 on Windows 10 Home (x64) Version 1511 (build 10586.218)

While creating an email I have a problem when attempting to attach a file from my documents folder (an seems to be only that folder)

When I request that sorting occur (the up down arrows change) but the sorting does not always occur

Sometime toggling between folder will correct for the problem

Any ideas?
