thunderbird wont open because of google security, it only opens after restart

I changed my password for google and after thunderbird shut down and would not open. I restarted my computer and it opened then shut down and would not open again untill I restarted. My husbands computer had awarning from google and he changed his password. the warning also came to me as I am his reference email. Just before thunderbird shut down for the first time a security warning appeared then dissapeared before i could read it. would appreciate help, Manju
