Hello,

I did a Refresh Firefox, then my Profile Screen showed the name of an added/extra profile - I've tried to delete the name from the profile window but I just get a "beach ball" that keeps revolving. When I looked in the Profile Folder, there was no folder for the add/extra name.

Anyone have any ideas on whats happened here? Why wont the extra name delete from the Profiles window.

In the Profile Manager you get the profiles listed in the order they appear in the profiles.ini. You can reorder the present profiles listed in the file and update the number to make sure they are consecutive like in the order they currently have.

[Profile0]
Name=<name_0>
IsRelative=1
Path=<path_0>

[Profile1]
Name=<name_1>
IsRelative=1
Path=<path_1>

OK - I clicked on Delete Files and it removed the extra name.

Now, is there a way to change the order (top to bottom) of the profile names?

The Profile names appear in the order that the Profiles are listed in the profiles.ini file. To change the order that they appear, I guess you could edit the profiles.ini file - like changing [Profile0], [Profile1], etc order of each Profile name.

Each of our profiles have there own folder within the profiles folder my name is on one folder, my wife's name on another folder, and a school name on another folder. None of the folders have actual numbers.

So do I understand you correctly to replace the names on each folder with numbers and that should change the top to bottom order of names in the profile manager?

OK - thanks much for your info - and for the link. Perhaps I'm overlooking it but I did not see info in the link for finding the profiles.in on a Mac OS Mavericks.

Where would the profiles.in be on a Mac?

OK - I found profiles.in and used Text Edit to make the name order changes and it worked - But, the web pages that are assigned to each of the names is now reversed - my name now opens the web page for the school name and the school name now opens my web page.

Not sure at all how to adjust this.

OK - I finally got it done.

I first only changed the names, then after taking another look at all the replies I went back and switched the paths and - SUCCESS!!

Many thanks for ALL input - theses forums are really terrific!!

You should only move an entire block up or down and change the number in the [Profile0] line to keep the numbers in order. Leave one blank line between each of the blocks. You shouldn't modify any of the other lines in a block.

OK - I understand for the future. But, all is back to normal now - so what I did earlier did work, perhaps I just got a little lucky - and hopefully all will continue to work normally.
