Password issues

Have noticed in the last week or so prior to 2/12 that I am having serious issues with Thunderbird handling passwords. Not sure if it is corrupting the transmission or what the specific issues are but often takes multiple attempts to send an e-mail with errors stating login failed.

Also finding that I will be retrieving a batch of mail and it will stop mid-stream, when I click "Get Messages" it will ask for the password again; or even with mail sitting idle...I may be reading e-mail on screen it suddenly pops a message stating that login failed.

This is occurring on multiple accounts with different passwords. Not having similar issues on iPhone/iPad access to same accounts so does not appear to be a server issue.

Restarting T'bird, rebooting PC, power cycling modem (total unplug from power) does not have any curative affect.

Thought I saw some patches loaded first week of Feb. Could they be the issue? Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

Who is your email provider?

Verizon.

Already confirmed all settings, this is not a new set-up. Worked fine until last week

Then you should talk to your email provider.
