When I open a facebook message in thunderbird, the facebook page has a black patch at the top.

In the black patch at the top of the page it also shows "File, Edit, History, bookmarks, Tools & Help" (Firefox). Is it possible to have Thunderbird open in Microsoft IE 11 rather than Firefox and if so, how would I go about doing this?
