After years of using Firefox to sign into my Logmein.com account, it is no longer letting me. It's saying that the connection is untrusted and no longer gives me the option to add it as an exception. This is quite inconvenient since I use LogMeIn daily for work. I hate that I'm having to use Internet Explorer daily because of this issue.

hello, first please make sure that the date, time & timezone are set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set properly), a possible solution depends on different factors:

  • what is the error code shown under technical details on the error page?

in case the error code equals sec_error_unknown_issuer, please attempt to add an exception on the bottom of the error page in order to inspect the certificate like it is shown on the screenshot attached:

  • which issuer information does the certificate contain?

please report back with those two pieces of information. thank you!

Hello. As you can see from my attached screen capture, the Add exception button is no longer available for me like it has been in the past. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to no avail.

My date and time zone, etc. is all correct on my computer.

It also says the issuer certificate is unknown.

thank you, in this case please proceed like this in order to gather more information about the failing certificate: enter chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul into the location bar, and in the page that opens, set the server location to "https://accounts.logme.in" in order to retrieve and view the certificate. then please report back with the data of the issued by section of the certificate viewer.

yes, thanks - so it looks like you're in a corporate environment were secure network traffic is monitored. the way this is done is by injecting their own certificate into the connection - this might cause problems if this certificate isn't entered as trusted into the firefox certificate root store or when secure websites use certificate pinning and tell a browser that only certificates from their own vendor should be valid for the domain. in the first case you might want to talk with your IT department about that...
