Is there a fix for Thunderbird erroneously listing (randomly) a cc'd recipient's email address as the address of the SENDER?

Over past month I have twice noticed Thunderbird WRONGLY identified the SENDER of emails I have received. The substituted address in both cases is identical to one of the addresses of a person listed as a CC recipient in the email. In both cases, the address of the actual sender has been lost (to Thunderbird).
