How to stop firefox from automatically deleting data after a specific time?

My Firefox deletes data after a specific period (i guess about 2 weeks), including history, cache, download history. It does nothing to saved passwords but I have to log in every single webpage again each time it resets, too much time wasting.

I just re-installed my Windows 2 months ago & do nothing in Firefox's settings, so I don't know what's going on with this automatic reset? :(

Pls help me!!!

Some thoughts:

(1) It sounds like cookies also are getting cleared, since that's how most sites are able to recognize you between visits.

(2) Do you have an Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop? When the Firefox Reset feature runs, it moves your old data into that folder. If this is a full reset but that would be a sign.

(3) By default, Firefox saves stuff for a very long time, so I think the culprit may be outside Firefox.

Do you have any "cleaner" type utility software running, such as CCleaner, that might be doing a scheduled purge on your browser data every couple of weeks?

If you notice changes in Firefox when you shut down and restart Windows and you use the Advanced SystemCare program, that would bear further investigation.

(4) Thank you for your detailed configuration information. It shows you have a "user.js" file in your profile folder. Firefox reads this file at startup and uses it to override your previously saved settings. Unless you created this file, some external software probably did. You can learn more about investigating and removing the file in this article: How to fix preferences that won't save.

Thanks for some ideas. I've checked it out: - I've just reinstalled Windows so it was completely new. I've been using Chrome for a while but then it wasted too much resources and I switched to Firefox about 1 months ago, and it has caused this problem since then. - I'm using CCleaner but I checked and there was no scheduled monitoring as well. I've deleted user.js file but the problem is still going on :(

Today it just reset again!

There is an actual reset feature, but that creates a folder on your desktop named Old Firefox Data. That should not happen automatically, but if you have the folder, then we would have a better idea of what is going on.

Does this occur when you exit Firefox and start it up again, or only after you shut down Windows and start the whole system up again?

There's no folder named Old Firefox Data on my desktop. This occurs when I shut down Windows and the next time I turn it on, it has been automatically reset. Usually after 1-2 weeks, but recently it was just 3 days.

Okay, I'm not 100% sure it's due to CCleaner, but just in case, could you:

(1) Go into CCleaner, click Options then Cookies and "whitelist" the sites you want to stay logged into

(2) If it's checked, consider unchecking the box under Options > Settings > "Run CCleaner when the computer starts"
