I need to undo a "non-approval" of an extension

I accidentally said "No" to a request to install an extension from my anti-virus (Avast free). I need to install the add-on. I've tried un- and re-installing Avast several times, but I can't get the add-on to come up. I've even "upgraded" Firefox (that is, downloaded and installed the current version without messing with my Profile Folder), but to no avail. I suspect the answer lies within my Profile Folder, but I don't know where to look in there. Any help with this would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks (in advance) for your help.

Hello,

You can download and install a fresh copy of the plugin here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/avast-online-security/

I would suggest to uninstall and then use Regedit (or depending Regedit32) to search and delete any thing related to Avast in your registry. Then try the install again. When uninstalling programs there are always left over entries in the registry.

You should find that extension at the bottom of the extensions list on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" showing up as being disabled.

Note that we regularly get reports that such extensions as provided by Avast cause issues.

CoryMH and cor-el, many thanks. I found the extension (I didn't know it was in the extensions list--sorry.) I downloaded and installed it; all is well.
