Firefox 13 or 14 won't print after upgrade

After upgrading from FF 13, I am no longer able to print from any website--the system print dialog box fails to open. This bug is also present in FF14 Beta as well.

I have already attempted to reset printer.printer (all of them) from about: config with no success. If I roll back to FF12, the bug is still occurring. The only solution that I have found is restoring a previous restore point.

Selecting print within print preview or control+p does not work as well.

I have also started FF in safe mode with no plugins/add on's with the same result.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

There's no error message, just no Print dialog?

Does it make any difference to change your default printer at the Windows level? For example, you could make a PDF printer driver your default printer. You might have to restart Firefox in order to have Firefox detect the change.

You can try to reset Firefox and create a new profile.

You can use the Profile Manager to go back to your original prolfile.

Hi jscher2000 -- You're are correct, there is no error message, and no print dialog. I already tried changing the default printer on the system level and the same bug is occurring.

cor-el -- I have reset FF and created a new profile, sadly, nothing has changed.

I'm am thinking there may be a .dll change with the new update that is affecting the print dialog; but that is just one possible theory.

While researching this on Google, it appears that this has happened to others in the past with various version, however, there was no solution.

More ideas would be appreciated. In the meantime, it looks like I'm going to restore a restore point and use a previous version until there is a fix or workaround.

Is there any way to do a "before and after" comparison when using System Restore? I suppose the problem is I don't know what I'm looking for... i.e., file in c:\windows or something in the registry, etc.

If there is, I'm not familiar with it. It looks like my previous restore points are no including 12 for some reason, so I can't get to the previous state that I was in when everything was working.

I am now convinced that this is on the system level and not a browser level. After downloading Safari to test as an alternative, it is doing the same exact thing. I can still print from Chrome and IE though.

The mystery deepens.

Another interesting issue, if printing from Chrome using Chrome's print preview, printing will work, select system dialog or disabling print preview will result in an error dialog with no error codes or additional info.

Makes me wonder if they are related.

It appears the printing issue has resolved itself. I'm not sure what was causing the bug. After uninstalling a couple of app's that I wasn't using and a restart, everything is back to normal.

Thanks again to everyone with your ideas.
